Irjen Agus Suryonugroho, the Chief of Traffic Directorate of the Indonesian National Police (Kakorlantas), has stated that the post-Eid al-Fitr exodus on the Trans Java Toll Road is under control. Various measures have been taken to ensure the safety and comfort of travelers returning after Eid. Traffic management, including local one-way systems, has been implemented to handle the vehicle density heading towards Jakarta. The peak of the return flow is predicted to occur on Sunday (April 6, 2025).
Agus, along with Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi and President Director of Jasa Raharja Rivan Purwantono, inspected the situation at the Banyumanik Toll Gate in Central Java on Saturday (April 5, 2025). They reported to the Minister of Transportation that the traffic conditions were relatively manageable.
Strategic Measures Taken:
-
Local One-Way Traffic: One-way systems from kilometer 70 to 36, and the opening of the second lane at Cikampek, have been implemented to ease the flow of returning traffic.
-
National One-Way Plan: Tomorrow, a national one-way traffic plan will be enforced from 414 Kalikangkung to Jakarta, following the directive of the Transportation Minister and the National Police Chief.
Minister Dudy Purwagandhi noted that the reverse flow of traffic was still smooth until that evening. The upcoming nationwide one-way system is expected to further alleviate congestion towards Jakarta.
